About the opportunity
We support and focus on strong key stakeholder management for internal Steadfast broker members and Underwriting Agencies, as well as growing external client base. The Senior Risk Engineer will lead the delivery of advanced risk management and loss prevention services for clients, with a focus on broker relationships and business developement. The role will provide site risk assessments, practical risk solutions and consultation to enhance the client profile. We also deliver respected reports into the domestic and global insurance markets as well as supporting our client's risk management programs.
Responsibilities
- Conduct advanced risk surveys for Steadfast brokers, underwriting agencies, mutuals and their clients, for a range of industry sectors and accounts.
- Partner with Senior Team members in deploying and implementing of the iSurveyRisk reporting and risk assessment program to deliver surveys.
- Perform property loss prevention assessments of facilities and document the assessments.
- Deliver comprehensive reports highlighting areas for risk improvement and mitigation strategies.
- Conduct client service meetings with underwriters, brokers, mutuals and clients and provide consultative risk management solutions.
- Partner with Senior Team members to enhance relationships and promote Risk Engineering services within the Steadfast network.
- Provide feedback and risk improvement recommendations and develop effective service plans that are tailored to customer needs.
Skills and Knowledge
- Minimum of 8+ years of experience in risk engineering.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering is preferable but not essential.
- Ideally, direct experience working in the insurance industry.
- Proven expertise in risk assessment and property loss prevention.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with brokers, underwriters, mutuals, and clients.
- Business acumen and a track record of identifying and securing new business opportunities.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to articulate complex risk issues effectively.
- Proven ability as a self-starter who continually looks toward individual development, can manage schedules and resources, continually assesses workload considering business priorities and directs own efforts accordingly while working in a remote work environment.
- A valid driver’s license is required.
- Ability to travel.
