About the opportunity
The Broker Technician will join the HWS Specialty team located in Sydney CBD, the internal Wholesale broker of Steadfast Group Limited. HWS Specialty assists Steadfast Network brokers in Australia, NZ, and Singapore with Wholesale placements into local and London markets, including complex and hard-to-place risks. This role involves supporting the team of brokers based in Sydney with wholesale placements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the renewal process, including sending renewal invitations, preparing market information, and sending quotations.
- Produce market documentation such as slips, endorsements, and policy documentation.
- Implement renewal and broking strategies in accordance with instructions received from Brokers/Senior Brokers.
- Input information into the organization's business systems to enable tracking of invoices, closings, and payments.
- Ensure compliance with documentation and processes.
- Answer and respond to daily enquiries.
- Develop and maintain meaningful working relationships with insurers, colleagues, and producing brokers.
- Build your reputation with key markets.
- Involvement in claims (alongside our London claims support team).
- Assist in building the brand of HWS Specialty.
- Maintain and build product and technical knowledge in the local insurance market.
Skills and Qualifications:
- High degree of customer service skills and ability to problem-solve and resolve client issues.
- Excellent time management skills, multitasking abilities, and attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proactive in a team environment and able to represent the company in meetings or seminars.
- Experience working in the insurance industry with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to work with a high degree of ambiguity, ideally with some claims experience.
