About the opportunity

 

We are seeking a Procurement Manager to join our expanding team. This role will be charged with driving efficiency, cost savings, and value for The Steadfast Group through the development and management of strategic procurement initiatives and practices.

Operating with a highly collaborative mindset, the successful Candidate will work with the Head of Procurement to build and manage an effective group-wide procurement strategy that will encompass managing existing supplier relationships, tendering for new suppliers, negotiating contracts, and monitoring overall procurement processes to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness, and consequently deliver savings to the overall group.

This is a hands-on role, and a key component will be the ability to transition from strategic vision to practical execution.

The position will operate from the Group Head Office located in Sydney. The reporting lines for this role are to the Head of Procurement.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Leading end-to-end complex sourcing initiatives and managing ongoing category oversight
  • Communicate clear and concise recommendations based on thorough analysis to senior stakeholders effectively
  • Evaluate and improve the end-to-end contract management procedure to establish an efficient process, ensuring clear delineation of roles between the procurement, stakeholders and legal teams.
  • Conducting thorough market analysis to gain insights into the category and develop strategies that are aligned and support the Steadfast Group strategy.
  • Establishing category baselines through analysis and modelling, utilising assumptions when data is unavailable
  • Play a significant role in facilitating the transition and implementation of new commercial or supplier arrangements as necessary
  • Ensure adherence to procurement and contract policies and procedures across business units, including conducting post-implementation reviews
  • Work closely with the Business to synchronise all Procurement initiatives with the overarching Steadfast Group strategy, and act as the Project Manager for implementing governance outputs
  • Ensure that all requirements related to ethical labour practices and environmental, social, and governance commitments are integrated into the procurement processes

 

Skills and Knowledge

 

  • Minimum 5 years of Procurement experience with a proven track record of successful Procurement and cost saving initiatives, developing Category Strategies and leading effective Supplier Relationship Management with key Suppliers. 
  • Demonstrated ability of transitioning from strategic vision to practical execution in a fragmented environment.
  • Strong understanding of ESG frameworks and their application within procurement processes.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Financial acumen and the ability to drive cost savings.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with Stakeholders and build trust at all levels across multiple Steadfast Entities.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate and thrive in a greenfield environment, with strong influencing skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
