About the opportunity

We are seeking a highly analytical and commercially astute Operational Finance Manager with a strong background in financial planning and a deep understanding of business operations. This role is critical in developing and executing a structured approach to our Operating budgets and forecasting to mature our approach to investment.

This includes standardising a robust recharge model for operational discretionary spend and shared services, including Technology, Marketing, Legal and HR. The ideal candidate will play a key role in providing actionable insights that drive financial efficiency and strategic decision-making across the business.

 

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain advanced financial models to support operational forecasting, budgeting, and performance analysis across the Business.
  • Partner with cost centre owners to understand discretionary spend, usage patterns, and forecasts to mature budget management.
  • Work with management to define and implement new budget principles and thresholds to support a maturing cost discipline approach.
  • Conduct monthly reports and quarterly trend analysis to provide insights into business performance against budget and forecast.
  • Define, implement, and manage a recharge model for shared services (e.g., Technology, Marketing, Legal, HR services) to our key customer cohorts.
  • Collaborate with IT, HR, Marketing, Legal and other departments to ensure recharge mechanisms supports the transparent and accurate usage of services.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data, models, and reporting tools to support a modernisation of financial reporting.

 

Skills and Knowledge

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in financial analysis, FP&A, or related finance roles with a strong focus on financial planning
  • Proven track record in building and executing recharge/cost allocation models for shared services.
  • Solid understanding of operational processes and cost drivers across multiple functions.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modelling; experience with financial planning systems is highly desirable.
  • Strong business partnering and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and drive change whist building a commercial mindset.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience working in complex organisations
  • Influencing Skills: Demonstrated ability to work within cross-functional teams to deliver agreed outcomes.
  • Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of budget management and cost optimisation
