About the opportunity
The Head of Business Partnering - People partners with Senior Leaders and Executives, to execute the people strategy and provide strategic advice and guidance across all facets of people related matters to drive business outcomes. With a well-defined business strategy focussed on scale and value growth, this role is pivotal in supporting leaders to build and develop talent, uplift organisational capability and drive performance. This role works very closely with the broader People team, to continuously enhance our people offerings and embed best practice frameworks and processes that drive change and deliver business outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Partnering: Strategically partner with Senior Leaders, influencing and providing strategic advice.
- Workplace Relations: With a risk mindset and sound understanding of the legislative landscape, effectively manage employment relations matters. This includes strategies to prevent and manage employment relations matters.
- Employment legislation: Maintain current knowledge of domestic and international employment legislative and regulatory changes.
- M&A: Support the domestic and international M&A due diligence process
- People plan: Lead the execution of the People plan initiatives across the respective stakeholder groups.
- Talent Management and Succession Planning: Partner with the business leaders to drive effective talent management, focusing on uplifting capability and developing our people.
- Change Management: Working closely with senior leaders, facilitate change.
- Operational Support: Provide day to day operational guidance to leaders on all employee related matters.
- Embed the People Team Service model: As we progress and develop the maturity of the People function, educate leaders on the service model, creating efficiencies and minimising operational activity within the strategic partnering role.
Skills and Knowledge
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline e.g. Sociology, Human Resources, Business Administration, Organisational Development, or equivalent knowledge and skills acquired through significant practical experience.
- 10+ years’ experience in strategic business partnering role.
- Strong workplace relations knowledge with demonstrated experience managing and resolving ER matters.
- Knowledge of current employment legislation and Employer of Choice’ practices.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and relationship management.
