About the opportunity
The Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) is the centre of excellence for Project Management across Steadfast Group, defining the controls and processes in place in order to prioritise Steadfast’s project portfolio, support the allocation of resources, coordinate activities across various business units, identify and manage interdependencies, drive effective governance and report and foster the understanding and adoption of the project governance and management lifecycle at all levels of the organisation.
This position works closely with colleagues from across the Group to proactively manage complex and concurrent projects. The role is responsible for end-to-end project delivery. This includes working with business stakeholders to understand business drivers and problems as they relate to strategy and guiding those stakeholders through a process of discovery and refinement to shape a considered project request. In addition to the effective shaping of delivery of individual project(s) and ensuring effective management of program and project interdependencies and identify opportunities for improvement. A customer-centric and service-oriented mindset enables the provision of meaningful outcomes for stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Support the PMO practice by leading projects effectively to ensure a culture of continuous improvement
- Provide Technologies and Business teams with oversight and governance of the respective project(s)
- Work collaboratively with Technologies and Business leaders to prioritise and manage project(s)
- Provide project reporting to Portfolio and business leaders that articulates project status, identifies key risks and dependencies, provides insight, and facilitates decision making
- Provide support and advice on project governance and foster the understanding and adoption of the project governance & management lifecycle at all levels of the organisation
- Support the implementation of frameworks and guidelines that promote value-driven delivery
- Support resource and capacity management for business and technology projects with Technologies and Business team members
- Mentor and coach team members to operate within the frameworks and guidelines to grow capability and work with them to continually improve the ways of working
- Ensure the success of the delivery teams by collaborating to remove blockers to progress
- Facilitate key project review meetings and discussions
- Role model accepted practice on utilisation of the project portfolio management (PPM) system
- Lead BAU initiatives as required alongside assigned project(s).
Skills and Knowledge
- Demonstrated capability leading complex and concurrent projects via adaptive project management approaches
- Excellent stakeholder relationship building, support and advice experience
- Proven experience of managing IT and business projects in a fast-paced environment
- Experience at leading complex and concurrent projects that enables hybrid and cross-functional delivery teams to succeed across a range of technologies and business areas
- Independent and effective resolve, communicate, and deliver innovative solutions
- Familiarity with the effective use of tools to optimize IT delivery team performance such as PPM software, issues & project management software (eg. Jira, Confluence, MS DevOps, MS Project)
